Fort Collins, Colorado – Today, State Representative Cory Gardner called on
Congresswoman Betsy Markey to reveal her stance on the pending Democratic
health care bill.

“Congresswoman Markey is a swing vote on the Democratic health care bill.
Her vote will affect every Coloradoan and every American,” said Gardner. “It
is time to stop the games and tell the voters of the 4th Congressional
District where you stand: do you stand with us, or do you stand with Speaker
Pelosi?”

Earlier today, the Start Over! Coalition, a coalition of leading employer
associations around the country, released a survey of likely voters in the
Colorado 4th Congressional District. The survey showed that 58% of the 4th
Congressional District's likely voters oppose the Democratic health care
bill and that 77% of the 4th Congressional District's voters say their
taxes are going to go up if the Democrats are successful in passing the
legislation.

“The voters of the 4th District are right. Their taxes will go up if the
healthcare legislation passes,” continued Gardner. “This bill will
inevitably lead to fewer choices in health care, fewer jobs and sweeping
cuts to Medicare to the direct detriment of our senior citizens.”

Cory Gardner is a native of Yuma, Colorado where he helps run the family
business. He is currently serving the 63rd District in the Colorado House
of Representatives. He and his wife, Jaime, live in Yuma with their six-year
old daughter.
