Fort
Collins, Colorado – Congressman Mike Coffman (CO-6) threw his support
behind Representative Cory Gardner today. Gardner is the leading
Republican candidate to challenge freshman Democrat Betsy Markey in the November General Election.
“I
am honored to have the endorsement of Congressman Coffman,” said
Gardner. “He has made a significant impact in changing the culture of
Washington in a short amount of time. Once elected, I intend to follow
his path and hit the ground running.”
Coffman, the former Secretary of State of Colorado, cited Rep. Gardner’s track record of success in the Colorado House of Representatives as the main reason for his endorsement.
“Cory’s record of accomplishment working for reform in Colorado speaks for itself,” said Coffman. “He has been a champion of fiscal responsibility and limited government. Washington needs more people who can make an instant impact and get things done.”
Congressman Coffman is the latest Member of Congress to throw his support behind Gardner. Other prominent members who have endorsed Gardner include; Congressmen Doug Lamborn (CO-5), Eric Cantor (VA-7), Mike Pence (IN-6), Kevin McCarthy (CA-22), Jason Chaffetz (UT-3), Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn (TN-7).
